Foundation of independent industrial factories under CAMPWith the tempo of its activities escalating rapidly, the company decided to establish and rely upon its own industrial factories, which would supply all the building materials needed to facilitate construction activities on a scale of thousands of housing units and office spaces. The various factories are today being operated under the umbrella of CAMP Industries Limited. The move provided the company with increased control over high quality products, and optimized project efficiency by avoiding reliance on local suppliers or imported materials. It also assured standardization of materials for all projects, enabled the company to develop a local workforce trained in Western technologies and the production of high quality products, and gave it the ability to transfer this extensive operation and experience to other locations around the world. For this purpose, H.F.P. established its own Central Works Yard in Ikota, CAMP Industries: six production lines of pre-cast components and additional factories for furniture, aluminium, metal work, interlocking paving stones, concrete roofing tiles, concrete blocks and Terrazzo tiles. These factories supplies most of the building materials and accessories required by the company for its construction activities and its scope and capabilities were to continually expand. PrefabricationThe factory consists of six production lines, with a production capacity of approximately 1,100m² per day. The factory adopts the Rosen System for house prefabrication and produces a complete set of building structures, which are delivered to site and assembled to form a complete housing unit. Other products manufactured include concrete pre-cast elements for a variety of building and civil engineering uses. The factory enables the company to simultaneously produce fully industrialized, prefabricated houses and semi-industrialized products for the conventional construction of prefabricated slabs, columns, beams, fences, gutters, water tanks, septic tanks, swimming pool units and many other products. Pre-Stressed Concrete ElementsThe factory produces pre-stressed concrete elements for the construction of quality single and multi-storey buildings and bridges. MetalworkThe metalwork factory produces all the steel materials needed for construction, building and pre-cast operations, anti-burglary proofing for residential and commercial buildings, security gates, streetlight poles and all moulds and form work required for the concrete prefabrication factory. The factory has a production capacity of 55 tons per day.CarpentryMajor products are quality office furniture, wardrobe units, kitchen cabinets, bedroom and dining sets, bathroom fittings, window/door frames and other carpentry accessories. Production capacity is 2,000 to 3,500 units per day, depending on the size and shape of the product.Interlocking Paving StonesThe factory manufactures various sizes and shapes of interlocking paving stones for road surfacing, parking lots, pedestrian and garden walkways etc. The use of interlocking paving stones has become popular and offers several advantages over the conventional paving system.
